CLINICAL STUDIES

The efficacy and safety of each product are confirmed by rigorous clinical studies conducted from a pool of thousands of volunteers. Every detail is carefully studied to ensure unparalleled results.
We are proud to carry out these clinical studies in our laboratory using high-tech methods and sophisticated instruments, such as imaging, profilometry and colorimetry, to name a few.

We are always looking for new people wanting to join our pool of volunteers. If you are interested, we invite you to complete the form below and submit your application. All our clinical studies are conducted at our headquarters, located in Saint-Laurent, QC. It is, therefore, essential that you attend in person, for the duration of the study. A clinical study is a scientific investigation designed to evaluate a cosmetic product (e.g., efficacy, tolerance) before or after it is placed on the market.

What are the conditions for conducting clinical trials?

Clinical trials are conducted with great rigor and in compliance with ethical standards to ensure the protection of volunteers and facilitate the precise and reliable collection and analysis of data. These trials are carried out in clinical research centers.

What are the conditions for participating in a clinical trial?

1. Clinical trials follow a predefined protocol, and participants are expected to adhere to the study's requirements.

2. Participation requires informed consent and understanding of the study's goals. You are free to withdraw at any time without justification, but the clinical evaluation team must be notified.

3. Appointments are scheduled according to the study timeline, and punctuality is crucial as delays may affect the schedule of the clinical evaluation aesthetician.

4. As clinical trials take place in our headquarters’ laboratory, in Saint-Laurent (68 Rue Stinson, Saint-Laurent, QC H4N 2E7), you must be able to attend all appointments in person, throughout the study.

5. Courtesy towards the clinical evaluation team is essential. Discriminatory remarks will result in removal from the pool of volunteers.

How are volunteers selected?

Volunteers must meet specific selection criteria (e.g., skin type, skin conditions, age) outlined in the study protocol for the product being tested. If you meet the criteria, one of estheticians in clinical evaluations will contact you to explain the study and schedule appointments based on your availability and the study timeline.

Are there any risks in participating in a clinical study?

Product testing represents the final step before the commercialization of a new product. The tested products have successfully undergone laboratory analyses (stability, microbiology, etc.). These products, as well as their components, comply with the regulations governing cosmetic products and natural health products. However, this compliance does not eliminate the risk of temporary intolerance or even an allergic reaction. The risks remain comparable to those associated with purchasing a new product.

What adverse effects may occur during a trial?

Most of side effects manifest as temporary intolerances, such as tingling, tightness, redness, or dryness, and sometimes as allergic reactions.Although these symptoms are mild, it is imperative that participants should contact the clinical trials team immediately, if any concerns arise. Adverse effects may result in withdrawal from the study, if necessary.

Participants experiencing skin intolerance will be closely monitored. These measures include visits to our laboratory, care from the clinical evaluation team, and post-visit telephone follow-ups with the clinical evaluation aesthetician.

What are the benefits of participating in a clinical trial?

Clinical trials play a vital role in the advancement of research and innovation in cosmetology. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to discover the latest cosmetic trends and test premium, innovative products before they are launched.

Additionally, you will receive compensation in the form of products valued between $95 and $290 per study, depending on the level of commitment required.

Can I participate if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Unfortunately, participation is not possible during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Hormonal changes during these periods can lead to skin changes (e.g., hyperpigmentation, hydration, sebum production) that could affect the study's results.

Can I participate if I am an aesthetician or a G.M. COLLIN partner?

Unfortunately, participation is not allowed if you are a G.M. COLLIN partner or if you work with the brand in a spa or beauty salon. The in-depth knowledge of our partners and aestheticians about G.M. COLLIN products and other market products could bias the study and compromise results.
